There is a saying that sometimes people’s indiscretions turn around to hurt them long after many may have forgotten about them. In reality, this plays out around us, now and again.
The latest example comes from South Africa, following the country’s election on May 29, with the MK party pulling off a political coup of sorts by capturing several seats in the parliament of South Africa.
The African National Congress acknowledged as the dominant political party in South Africa, was not as impressive as it used to be, leading to talks of forming a government of national unity, which will see the ANC form a new government with other political parties.
Well, back to the main story. MK Party MP Andile Mngxitama has found himself in some hot after over statement he made a long time ago.
A while back, he had delivered a speech which resurfaced again, with some people accusing him of promoting hate in that speech. His words in that speech are seemingly haunting him now in his new position as a member of parliament.
Amid the whole drama, though, a petition has been launched in his defence by his supporters, with others who support him encouraged to sign.
