ASAP Rocky’s Alleged Shooting Trial Gets Start Date

ASAP Rocky, a former Hollywood actor, is set to begin his trial for two counts of first-degree assault involving a semi-automatic firearm. The charges stem from an incident in 2021 where Rocky fired at his childhood friend, ASAP Relli, who appeared to graze his hand. The trial is expected to provide insight into the events leading up to the altercation, with the outcome potentially having significant implications for both individuals involved. Rocky’s January plea of not guilty to the charges has been confirmed.

Rapper ASAP Rocky’s trial is set to begin on October 21, following preliminary hearings scheduled for June 28 and August 2. Despite Rocky’s lawyers’ objections, Judge ML Villar found sufficient trial evidence, leading to Kerlin’s ruling. The incident occurred during a music festival in Stockholm, Sweden, and sparked an international debate on self-defence laws in Sweden.

ASAP Rocky has until July 19 to submit a proposed move to dismiss the lawsuit against him. His attorney, Joe Tacopina, believes he can prove his client’s innocence and won’t seek a plea bargain. He plans to try the case in court, where evidence proving his genuine innocence will surface. It’s important to note that self-defence laws in Sweden may differ from those in the United States, where ASAP Rocky is from, so understanding these differences will be crucial in building a solid defence for the singer.
