If you are a South African or just happen to follow the reality show scene in the country, you have probably already heard about the reality show “Born Into Fame.” The title explains itself: It is a show about the children of some of South Africa’s famous figures.
Well, Owami Mafokate, the oldest daughter of the record label boss and Kwaito veteran Arthur Mafokate, is among the people on the show.
In the latest episode, she gave fans a peek into her life as the daughter of the celebrated figure. By her own account, at some point in her life as a Mafokate, she tried to run away from home. She was much younger then and she thought running away from home was the best decision at the time.
Now older and more experienced in life, running away from home is certainly not in the cards for her. Anyway, she is much more independent now and can take care of herself. She is also old enough to be married.
The Mafokate family is often seen as illustrious thanks to the contributions of the patriarch to South African music – and that’s despite the scandals that have smeared Arthur through the years.
