Brenda Mhlongo Bags Role in ‘Uzalo’

Popular actress Brenda Mhlongo has landed a new role in the hit series “Uzalo.”

According to a new report by The South African, talented actress, Brenda Mhlongo, known for her roles in “Generations: The Legacy,” and “The River” has booked a new role in SABC1’s “Uzalo.” The news was first reported by entertainment commentator Jabu Mcdonald who shared that the  actress will play a commissioner in the hit series.

“Brenda Mhlongo has joined #Uzalo and will be playing Commissioner Shezi,” wrote Jabulani Macdonald.

Brenda Mhlongo is not the only addition to the cast of the SABC series. She has become the third to join this year after Thabisile Zikhali and Mnqobi Kunene, who have played good characters in the soapie.

The South African writes that In the series, “Officer Lilly (Noxolo Mathula) snitches on her boss, Captain Mondli (Thembinkosi Thwala) to the commissioner. She shared that Mondli is the mysterious ‘The Punisher’ who recently killed a member of their community. Then, Shezi (Mhlongo)  informs Lilly that it’s her job to investigate Mondli and provide evidence that he truly is ‘The Punisher’.”

Brenda Mhlongo is a well-known face to households in Mzansi. In April, she started as Sibongile’s aunt in Mzansi Wethu’s “Sibongile and The Dlaminis.”
