Cassie Shares A Heartfelt Note To Her Fans Following The Release Of The Diddy Assault Video

American singer, Cassie, just broke her silence on Instagram today, May 23, following the emergence of a video purportedly showing her being beaten up by her ex-boyfriend, rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The 37-year-old musician, who had been accused of lying about the abuse by Sean and others, urged people to “open your heart to believe victims the first time.”

In the disputed footage, which CNN was able to get, the rapper is shown chasing Cassie down the hallway of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City while holding a towel around his waist. He then kicks and grabs Cassie. According to sources, Diddy sought therapy and spiritual work after the 2016 incident and entered rehab.

This week saw the unexpected release of security footage showing Diddy viciously assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. In the footage that CNN was able to obtain, the rapper is seen chasing Cassie down the hallway of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City while wearing no shirt and with a towel wrapped around his waist.

He caught her by the back of her head and delivered a forceful blow to her head as she attempted to enter the elevator. After kicking her while she was immobile on the floor, he grabbed the two designer bags she had attempted to flee with. Diddy took her back to their room by the hoodie, kicked her once more, and stood over her.

In a lawsuit that was later settled, Cassie stated that Diddy had given the same hotel $50,000 to trash the video after the incident.
