Counterfeit Goods Worth Over R15 Million Seized By The Police In Johannesburg

Counterfeiting is a common problem around the world but much more prevalent in SOuth Africa and and other poorly regulated spaces of which South Africa is one.

But at least the South African Police Service (SAPS) is doing a lot to curtail this reality, with results to show for the effort so far.

Just recently, the SAP, assisted by the metro police, provincial crime prevention wardens and the South African evenue Service officials, seized counterfeit goods worth more than R15 million in Johannesburg.

They were operating on a search and seize warrant, with intelligence also leading them to hidden storage facilities at a mall. The place was locked but the team still managed o gain access using classified equipment.

This is one of several teams when the SAPS manged to seize countereit products in South Africa, and it is doubtful it will be the last as the governments continues the drive to rid the Rainbow Nation of counterfeits.
