Dame Dash Thinks Drake’s Career Will Take A Hit Following Battle Outcome

With his recent successes, it’s an exciting time to be a Kendrick Lamar fan, while Drake fans may find it challenging. Kendrick Lamar’s accomplishments, including his number-one single “Not Like Us” and increased streaming numbers, demonstrate his growing influence. On the other hand, Drake’s declining streaming numbers have led to concerns about his reputation. Dame Dash recently provided insights on this topic during a barbershop interview. The recent battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake has brought about a shift in the narrative.

Dash, who previously predicted Kendrick Lamar to win, had positive words for both rappers. He described their back-and-forth as the greatest battle in hip-hop history. “As a battle,” he asserted, “this is the best battle of all time. I’ve been in hip-hop for a while, and this has been the most impactful battle.” This praise comes from the man who supported Jay-Z during the legendary Nas battle of the early 2000s. Dash holds Drake vs. Lamar in high regard because he felt their songs actually impacted each other, especially Drake’s.

“The battle songs are altering the course of that artist’s life,” Dash pointed out. “It’s clear that things are changing for Drake right now. This is unprecedented.” The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella was taken aback by the intensity of Lamar’s criticism of Drake’s personal life. “This was no joke,” he emphasized. “It turned into a full-blown war.”

Dash’s statements hold weight, but it’s undeniable that Drake’s star power far outshines Lamar’s. K. Dot managed to secure his second solo number one with “Not Like Us,” but Drake’s “Family Matters” debuted at number seven. Drake boasts 11 more number ones than his rival. The reported streaming dip is somewhat misleading. After winning the battle, Lamar experienced a 49% surge, while Drake saw a 5% decline. Despite these figures, Drake still outperformed Lamar. Drake dominated with 100.7 million streams from May 3–6, while Lamar only managed 50.62 million in the same time span. There’s no doubt that Drake is the undisputed winner in the numbers game. Seeing how fan opinion shapes his legacy in the long run will be intriguing.
