Did Central Cee Jump On Amapiano Before Mzansi Rappers? Cassper Nyovest Responds

In the world of music, there is never a shortage of opinions on subjects relating to the culture, not in South Africa or anywhere else. people will always talk. It must be said this adds to the vibrancy of the culture, of course.

In South Africa, it is common knowledge that amapiano has become the in-thing, attracting musicians from other genres, from house to hip-hop. But at some point, amapiano wasn’t exactly popular and some even dismissed it as a fad and gave it a timeline to disappear.

IT didn’t disappear, though. It has grown, rather, reaching several countries across the world. But who could have jumped on the amapiano wave first before South African rappers did and before it became popular?

Well, an  X user posted about that recently, pointing to Central Cee as having jumped into the amapiano wave before South African rappers.

That post appeared to have rubbed Cassper Nyovest the wrong way and he replied to it with a dismissive “Sop it,” indicating he found the claim misleading.

Cassper himself jumped into the amapiano wave years ago and has released a couple of charming numbers in the genre. Could he mean in his response that he was the rapper who jumped on the genre first?
