DJ Mustard Reacts To “Not Like Us” Debuting At Billboard’s Hot 100 Number One

For both Drake and Kendrick Lamar, the feud has been a huge commercial success. Songs are getting millions and millions of streams in a very short period, which naturally translates into massive chart success. Songs like “Euphoria” and “Push-ups” debuted in the Hot 100’s top 20 earlier this month, and the most recent charts are dripping with even more remarkable success. This production is his highest charting yet; Mustard’s “Not Like Us” became his highest-charting single to date, surpassing Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up,” which peaked at number five back in 2018.

Furthermore, this week’s ranking showed that Kendrick’s “euphoria” leapt from outside the top 10 to number 3. Drake’s answer, “Family Matters,” likewise made its top 10 debut at number 7. Only “Not Like Us,” which debuted at number one today, had a lower debut than any Diss song. After just five days of monitoring, the song achieved the astoundingly remarkable achievement of peaking at number one on the Hot 100. The DJ Mustard-produced single debuted at number one on the charts despite the early lead that every other song received. The producer then discussed his thoughts on the remarkable accomplishment on Twitter.

Mustard’s reaction began,

“Sometimes you really gotta pop out and show n*ggas!!!!”

“To think . . . They really focused on me and acted like I wasn’t who I was! I’m thankful but not surprised; I never lost sight and stayed down. With my back against the wall is where I thrive,”
