Dricus Hits Back At Trolls Who “Fat-Shame” Siya Kolisi

MMA fighter Dricus du Plessis stood up for Siya Kolisi when remarks about the captain of the Springboks’ weight were made at his French club Racing 92.

A emphasis on his “celebrity lifestyle” and weight gain have been leveled against the rugby star. Having left his Durban team, the Sharks, Siya inked a three-year contract with the club last year. Two Rugby World Cup titles have been won by the Bok captain’s squad in a row. Sporting 92 owner Jacky Lorenzetti’s remarks against Siya Kolisi drew criticism from MMA fighter Dricus du Plessis and Springbok supporters on the X app.

The Springbok skipper received scathing criticism from the French club manager in an interview with Midi Olympique. Comments that the 33-year-old was overweight and out of shape are included in this.

Additionally, Dricus vehemently protected Siya Kolisi from tweeps.

On Saturday, June 22, at Twickenham, Siya Kolisi was greeted as a hero after the Springboks defeated Wales 52–16. Social media footage from the London stadium match shows rugby supporters applauding the Springbok. Siya was not allowed to play, as was the case with all the other players, because the game was played outside of the international window.
