Eddie Murphy Has Confirmed ‘Shrek 5’ and ‘Donkey’ Spinoff

Iconic American comedian and actor Eddie Murphy has confirmed “Shrek 5” and “Donkey” spinoff.

We have something new and big to look forward to and it has to do with Eddie Murphy. According to reports, the iconic comedian is returning to reprise his role as Donkey in the Shrek franchise. The South African writes that he recently confirmed his involvement in two projects, “Shrek 5” and a “Donkey” spinoff.

The 63-year-old actor made the reveal in a recent interview stating that he has commenced work on “Shrek 5.” He also shared that there will also be a new spin-off centered on his fun character, Donkey.

“We started doing Shrek 5 four or five months ago. I recorded the first act, and we’ll be finishing it up this year.”

Daily Mail reports that there has been speculation about the fifth installment of the animated film since April 2023. About the spin-off, Murphy said,

“Another Shrek is coming out. Donkey’s gonna have his movie. I think [Shrek 5 is] coming out in 2025, and we’re doing a Donkey one next.”

Fans are anticipating the upcoming films and everyone is excited. Murphy had previously stated his interest in making a new Shrek film. He said,

“If [DreamWorks] ever came with another Shrek. I’d do it in two seconds.”
