Eminem’s “Houdini” Makes Top 5 Debut On The Hot 100

The new era of Eminem is well and truly beginning as Slim Shady ends. He and several iconic Lions players appeared at the NFL Draft in Detroit earlier this year. Additionally, he released the news of his most recent album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), that same weekend. There is a lead single on the album, which was once scheduled for release this summer but doesn’t yet have a set date. The song “Houdini” was released a week ago and recently found a shockingly prominent place on the Hot 100. Fans eagerly anticipate the full album release, as Eminem’s return to the music scene has been met with much excitement and praise. The success of “Houdini” on the charts is a promising sign of what’s to come from The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).

Eminem is a familiar face in the music industry, ranking highly in almost all sales metrics for rappers. It’s therefore not surprising that his new song received much attention. “Houdini” recently made its Hot 100 debut at position two. Since 2013, when his single “The Monster,” featuring Rihanna, peaked at number one on the charts, this is the highest he has ever charted. This time, “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen is the only song keeping Em off the top of the charts. A few weeks ago, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” gave way to the country crossover, which hasn’t let go of the number one slot since.

For various reasons, people are talking about Eminem’s new song. Though not one that seemed to worry the hitmaker much, it features a shot at Megan Thee Stallion. In addition, Em’s kids are made fun of and called brats. However, the children in the music video next to the sentence seem to be aware of the joke. The famous visitors included in the video received a lot of attention on their own. The controversy surrounding the song has sparked debates about the boundaries of artistic expression. Despite the backlash, Eminem remains unapologetic about his lyrics and continues to dominate the charts with his latest release.
