‘Emzini Wezinsizwa’ star Jerry Phele Bags Role In ‘Smoke and Mirrors’

Mzansi actor Jerry Phele, best known for starring in “Emzini Wezinsizwa,” has bagged a new role in “Smokes and Mirrors.”

Jerry Phele is off to new beginnings. The star was announced as a new cast member on e.tv’s series “Smokes and Mirrors.” The information was first shared by Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela on X.

No more information has been shared about him joining the soapie. There is also no information on the character he will play, but fans of the soapie are excited to see him in it.

According to a report by TVSA, Phele played the legendary character Mofokeng in the SABC1 sitcom from 1994 to 2003. He later starred as Morena in the sitcom “Skwizas,” which aired on SABC2. He starred alongside veteran actresses Lilian Dube and Tsholofelo Matshaba.

He appeared in the sitcom “Samsokolo,” which aired on Mzansi Magic, playing a scheming taxi driver, Bra Seputla, in 2013. He has also starred in Ferguson Film’s Sesotho Telenovela “The Throne” as Motsamai, the village joker.

According to a tweet on X by Jabu Macdonald in December, “Smokes and Mirrors” star Zolisa Xaluva was replaced by Hlomla Dandala. Dandala plays Xaluva’s character as the new Caesar Ngonyama. Zimoja reports that he will start shooting as Caesar for Season 2.
