Falz Calls Out The Federal Government While Taking Sides With The NLC

Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz the Bahd Guy, is a Nigerian rapper, activist, and actor who talked about how the NLC’s statewide strike is impacting him.

On Monday, June 3, the union began the strike, which resulted in the suspension of all government activities and the suffering of several citizens. Falz spent the weekend in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, taking part in a charity football game emceed by Troost Ekong, a player for the Super Eagles. He said that he was informed that the airport had been closed because of the strike action while he was returning to Lagos.

Despite being delayed in the South-South region and needing to attend to some business in Lagos, he expressed no regrets about being in the area. He continued by saying that the NLC has a good reason for starting this action, which is to demand an increase in the minimum salary from N30k to N494k. The Bop Daddy crooner also used his vernacular to criticize the administration, saying that they are not accountable.

On Monday, workers’ strike shut down the national grid, airports, ports, and other public institutions, paralyzing economic activity nationwide. Nonetheless, during a meeting on Monday night, the federal government delegation, headed by Secretary to the Federation Government George Akume, came to an understanding with the striking workers.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) declared that even if a deal with the federal government has been reached, the strike will go forward on Tuesday.
