The first-ever Festival Fashion Talent Search has now begun! Rocking the Daisies is excited to announce this collaboration with GALXBOY.
Inspired by one of South Africa’s most popular music and lifestyle events, Rocking the Daisies, this fascinating venture celebrates the lively subculture of festival wear. In order to portray their most glamorous and stylish festival selves, participants are urged to let their creativity run wild with no restrictions on fabrics, colors, or prints.
The festival’s theme for this year is “In the Stars,” which challenges designers to use celestial motifs in at least one of their five capsule collection pieces. The competition’s top five designers will have the amazing chance to present their collections to thousands of festival attendees at Rocking the Daisies. The next generation of Mzansi designers will be empowered and uplifted by this forum, adding to the diverse fabric of South African fashion.
The Festival Fashion Talent Search winner will take home a whopping R20,000.00 cash prize. They will also work together to design the official Rocking the Daisies festival merchandise for its 20th anniversary. The winner will also receive a highly sought-after internship with the GALXBOY team at their Johannesburg, South Africa headquarters.
Designers who are interested in participating must submit their collections using the guidelines found on rockingthedaisies.com. Entries will be accepted from June 26, 2024, to July 24, 2024.
