Jeff Bezos & Elon Musk To Take Their Battle To Space

Billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are taking their battle to space.

According to a recent report by The South African, Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin has fired the latest salvo in its ongoing feud with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, with aims to limit Musk’s rocket launches from Florida. The reports revealed that the Amazon founder lodged a formal complaint with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) seeking to impose limits on the activities of SpaceX.

The South African writes that this all centers on the upcoming Starship-Super Heavy (Ss-SH) launch system by SpaceX which promises to be the largest and most potent one ever built. However, according to a report by The News, Blue Origin claims that it could pose significant environmental risks and threaten local ecosystems.

A spokesperson for Bezos’ camp said,

“SpaceX’s operations are expected to have a greater environmental impact than any other launch system currently operating nearby.”

The South African writes that the Super Heavy booster alone is designed to carry an unprecedented 5,200 metric tonnes of liquid methane. Fox Business also reported that it could be hazardous to the environment as a previous launch by the space company reportedly unleashed heat and pressure similar to a volcanic eruption. The launch reportedly showered nearby towns with soil and sand.

Taking to X, Elon Musk reacted, writing, “Sue Origin.”
