Jonathan Majors Bags New Film Role

American actor Jonathan Majors has bagged a new role after his domestic assault conviction.

Talented American actor Jonathan Majors is slowly redeeming himself after being surrounded by so much controversy. The star has reportedly returned to the acting scene after his 2023 domestic assault conviction. Bossip reports that the Marvel star has just landed his first role since then.

He is set to star in the independent revenge thriller Merciless, which will be directed by Martin Villeneuve. The South African reports that Martin Villeneuve is  the younger brother of Dune director Denis Villeneuve. He also confirmed Majors’ casting last week.

Villeneuve also revealed that the film will explore dark and intense themes. The publication writes that “the plot follows a CIA investigator who goes to troubling lengths after the woman he loves is overpowered by sinister forces.” Filming for the thriller will commence in late autumn in Saskatchewan.

Jonathan Majors, formerly one of the fastest-rising actors in the world, suffered a setback in his career when he was accused of domestic violence. He was later sentenced to one year of domestic violence counselling in April after being found him guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Majors was ordered to complete a 52-week in-person programme in Los Angeles by a Manhattan judge. It is unclear how he will balance filming for the upcoming thriller with the programme.
