Katlego Mphela’s Adventures From Football To Sales And Back To Football

Ex Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs footballer is having a hard time resisting the lure of football

Life must go on. That has been the mantra for celebrated footballer Katlego “Killer” Mphela, who recently ditched his car salesman job at a dealership to focus on his football ventures.

It is almost traditional for most footballers to take to coaching after their playing years, and indeed some people expected Mphela to take the same path.

However, it turned out he had other plans. He became a car salesman at a dealership – until recently. His colleagues report that he has since left the dealership to focus on his new football ventures,

Apparently, the lure of football was too strong for him not to get back in albeit in a different capacity.

Recalling his playing years and the impact some people have had on his life, especially his former coach Pitso Mosimane, he had nothing but gratitude to share about his relationship with the coach.

According to him, Pitso Mosimane is more like a father figure to him, and had he taken the advice from the coach, he would have accomplished more than he did without the coach’s advice.

Anyway, life must go on, and he is indeed plodding ahead, thankful for the experiences he had and the people who shaped his life in positive ways.
