South African president Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration may have come and gone but the memories are still pretty fresh for those who showed up for the occasion – or watched the same via TV.
Either way, it was a memorable occasion attended by some of the leading political figures out there, from kings to government officials. It was also a feast of colours, as each guest turned up well for the formal occasion.
Among those spotted at the inauguration were the Zulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini and his wife, Malusi Gigaba and his wife Nomfundo Fakudze, King Letsie III and his wife and King Mswati III and his wife.
The men were mostly distinguished for their preferences for suits. The ladies also opted for glamorous outfits, making sure to stick to the formality of the occasion. The scenes were beautiful and memorable.
Decades ago, many would probably never have imagined that South Africa would be free from the shackles of apartheid rule, with a black president leading the country. But here they are – a free nation. Below are some of the images from the inauguration.
