Lula Odiba Wishes Her Father Eddie Zondi Got To Witness Her Rise

Lula Odiba wishes she could have experienced this historic moment with her late father and renowned broadcaster Eddie Zondi, as she has earned a time slot on national radio with her shift to 5FM.

The 26-year-old radio personality comes to the station from her well-liked show on Y, formerly known as YFM, and has seven years of on-air experience. She’ll be hosting the national broadcaster’s noon show in two weeks. Lula, whose birth name was Keletso Modiba, showed an early interest in radio and its technical aspects.

In grade 9, she developed a great connection to the trade and would frequently study and imitate celebrities like Thando Thabethe and Bonang Matheba, who she saw on television. Lula also remembers her two days as DJ Fresh’s high school shadow. This happened at 5FM. Some noteworthy recent changes to 5FM include Nick Hamman switching from afternoon drive to morning, where he will be accompanied by Marli van Eeden, Xoli Zondo, and Thabo Baloyi.

After lunch, Odiba will take over the afternoon drive with Zanele Potelwa. Potelwa will be joined by Yanga Mjoli and Nick Archibald. For the mid-morning show, Yonaka Theledi and Stephanie Be will partner up.
