Lynn Forbes, the late AKA’s mother, recently posted a moving statement on Instagram following her visit to her son’s burial, providing an insight into her healing process.
Forbes wrote a touching piece on how her trips to AKA’s final resting place have changed over time. Lynn mentioned that she keeps AKA informed about Kairo’s and the family’s progress during her trips. According to her, these visits have turned into a consolation and a means of keeping a close bond with her late son.
In February of last year, AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, and his companion Tebello Tibz Motsoane were shot and killed in Durban. Since then, seven individuals have been taken into custody. AKA and his friend’s murders are alleged to have been planned and executed by five of the accused, who were denied bail.
The group allegedly planned the killings, made plans to obtain guns and a Mercedes Benz for the crime, and were observed watching AKA prior to his shooting. With the help of strong evidence including phone logs and CCTV recordings, State Prosecutor Lawrence Gcaba showed the jury that the accused had a hand in the killings’ planning.
