Not every celebrity who is facing one challenge or the other has the courage to go public about the same. But local singer Makhadzi had the courage recently to share that her life is not as rosy as it appears to the public.
During a recent appearance on Podcast and Chill with MacG and Sol Phenduka, the Limpopo singer revealed that she is facing financial challenges and had to borrow money from loan sharks to attend the recent BET Awards in the United States.
There, fortunately, she was honoured with an award. That made the trip worthwhile. She is happy and grateful for that win. But the spectre of loan sharks still loom large before her.
Many South Africans were stunned by her revelations. Some sympathised with her over her current financial predicament while also wishing that she would recover pretty soon.
Some weren’t really impressed, however, pointing out that she and many other musicians need financial education along with their managers. Some condemned her for flauntingexpensivee designers while being in debt. See the post below.
