Millicent Mashile’s Complaint About H&M Provokes Allegations Of Clout-Chasing

When you are a public figure, your every action is gleaned from a dozen and one lens. People have something to say on almost everything you do – or don’t do – and there isn’t much you can do about it.

Ask many South African celebs, and they will give you exactly that verdict. You may as well ask Millicent Mashile, who was recently accused of clout chasing after calling out a cashier at H&M.

In a post online, Millicent had complained that she had gotten terrible customer service from a cashier at H&M while shopping for clothes for her twin sister who lost everything when her R3 million mansion burned down.

The clip failed to impress some South Africans, some of whom contemptuously bid her to “rest” and stop disturbing people with her clout-chasing. You can check out the post below.

At the time of writing Millicent had said nothing about her critics and the fact that they were unimpressed with her complaint about the bad customer service at H&M. It is unclear if she would even respond.

However, the fire she referenced brings to mind similar fire incidents that have happened across South Africa’s celebrity universe. Would this ever end?
