Most musicians would tell you that their songs are never random; they usually have messages encapsulated in them for the public to unearth and appreciate. South African actor and singer Nay Maps is no different.
The songster recently gave a clue into the message behind his song “Umoya Wasendulo” and how he transitioned from acting to singing.
According to him, the waid song is more of a prayer to the Almighty, the All-Knworing one and the source of all creativity.
Driving into details, he points out that the song is a plea to the Most High for clarity and for the Spirit of Life to light up his path and be his guide. Well, the song resonated with many of his compatriots, who have been enjoying the song since it was released.
On his creativity and music calling, he pointed out that he is not a stranger to music despite only just having leapt into the universe. He said he grew up in music, was a music director back in his church days and even acted as a backup singer to some musicians.
Those years of adventure in the music universe are finally paying off, with his latest release which is currently in the crosshairs of music lovers across South Africa.
