Nigerian Actor Mr Ibu Buried In His Sitting Room

Famous Nigerian actor and comedian Mr Ibu gets buried in his sitting room three months after his death.

Tributes have poured in as Nigerian comedian and actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu was laid to rest. The star is reported to have passed away on March 2 after suffering a heart attack. He was 62.

The veteran actor was reportedly buried in his sitting room after a celebratory funeral was held in his hometown of Amuri, Nkanu West, in Enugu State. His funeral was attended by some of the famous names in Nollywood including Patience Ozokwor, Pete Edochie and more. The famous Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, was also president.

He is mourned by his family, close friends and fans all over the country and the world. Clips of the burial ceremony shared on social media show the body arriving Enough for the final rites. A grave was dug in the actor’s sitting room where he was buried.

The La Nouvelle Tribune reported in April that Mr Ibu’s elder brother, Sunday Okafor, said the family decided to delay the actor’s funeral so as to honour him with a befitting burial. He stated that the aim is to celebrate the actor’s life and not hastily bid him farewell.
