R1 Billion So Far Donated To KFC’s “Add Hope Initiative” – Where The Money Goes

Ask some people and they will tell you that charity is a way of life. Many are willing to give as they find fulfilment in helping others and aiding causes. Not surprisingly, there are many charity initiatives out there.

In South Africa, one of the biggest fast-food chains, KFC, is running a charity initiative called “Add Hope,” which has raised an unprecedented R1 billion from South Africans so far.

Now, if you happen to be one of the donors, you might be curious where the money will go. Well, you are not alone. Even those who didn’t chip in a rand are curious as well.

Well, KFC Marketing Manager Andra Nel recently gave a clue how much the Add Hope initiative has raised in its 15 years of operation, pointing to an impressive R1 billion.

As to the use of the funds, it is allocated to several not-for-profit organizations across South Africa, which in turn use it to feed children across the Rainbow Nation.

The initiative has not been without criticism and speculations. Back in 2022, it was claimed that KFC used the funds raised to pay its staff, a claim that the brand denied.

The initiative is still open for those who want to donate.
