Musician Winnie Khumalo asks South Africans to pray for her daughter Rethabile, who’s hospitalized after being poisoned by a friend. Rethabile has undergone three surgeries and is in critical condition.
Winnie wrote,
“So I thought i will keep quite until my daughter is ok…She is fighting for her life…She has been poisoned by a so called friend [sic] .
“It has been six days now in hospital… So I decided its only fair to share with her supporters these sad news [sic] …They did 3 operations on her already we hoping that @rethabile_rsa will soon recover but at the moment akukho kuhle [it doesn’t look good] .
“She has been On and off… When you pray please include her in your prayers… Ubunzima bokuba umzali [the hardships of being a parent] ,”
Winnie encouraged Rethabile to continue battling for the sake of her young boy in a different Instagram story post. December of last year marked the birth of the 27-year-old singer’s first child, Culo. She is most known for her 2019 hit song Umlilo, starring DJ Zinhle. The hitmaker for Live My Life gave her followers more updates on her daughter’s condition and revealed that the police will be opening a case in relation to the poisoning event, according to famous celebrity gossip account Maphepha Ndaba. Winnie also revealed that Rethabile continues to undergo life-saving medical operations.
“Right now, she is going back to theatre after doing three operations. We just want to focus on her first and making sure her son is okay,”
She also begged her admirers to assist her in bearing the burden, expressing her sincere gratitude for their love and support.
“Thank you for the love and support… Now that I know everyone knows, I feel comforted by the shared pain and prayers,”
