SA Female Rappers Nominated For Basadi In Music Awards

Here are the SA female rappers nominated for the Basadi In Music Awards this year.

We would all agree that it has been a good year for music so far. Female rappers have also put in good work and are currently receiving their flowers after bagging nominations at the Basadi In Music Awards 2024.

The awards show unveiled the nominees for the SA Hip Hop Artist of the Year award for 2024. According to SAHipHopMag, the category celebrates the talents of South Africa’s leading female rappers and the impact they’ve made on the local hip-hop scene.

Nominationed in the category are Nadia Nakai, Faith K, Fifi Cooper, Dope Saint Jude, and Dyna Steez. Nadia Nakai reportedly won the award at the last year’s ceremony. Her fans could be hoping she wins it a second time this year.

Fans are expected to vote on the official Basadi In Music Awards website. Voting lines closs on July 28th. The awards ceremony will happened on 10 August 2024 in Johannesburg at the Mandela Theatre at Joburg Theatre. Radio personality Unathi Nkayi will host the awards. The date also coincides with Women’s Month.

CEO and founder Hloni Modise shared how thrilled she is that the awards ceremony has grown significantly in the last three years.

“I didn’t think we would make it to the third year. So many people come to me and told me what these awards mean to them. I think that’s what keeps me going. We have over 24,000 submissions and that’s the biggest ever achieved. This shows me the confidence people have in the brand and its growth.”
