Famous rapper Shebeshxt bids farewell to his late daughter with a farewell note at her funeral.
The past couple of weeks have been tough and heartbreaking for Limpopo-born rapper Shebeshxt. The rapper was involved in an accident with his 8-year old daughter and her mother. He recently had to bid farewell to his daughter, Onthatile Chuene, who died in the crash and was buried on Saturday, 22 June.
The accident is said to have happened on the R37 road next to Smelters Mine in Limpopo on 8 June. Shebe was reported to have been driving with Kholofelo Chuene and their daughter, when his Volkswagen Polo crashed into a truck and overturned.
The South African reports that the controversial rapper suffered a broken leg, abdominal fracture, and head injuries, after he was rushed to a public hospital. But because he was left unattended, he was transferred to the Netcare Pholoso Hospital. Kholofelo was hospitalised for sustaining moderate injuries. She is said to be doing fine.
He bade farewell to his late daughter at her burial in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo. His note to her reads,
“You left a huge void in our hearts. I don’t think we will ever recover from this. We might seem strong, but deep down we wish we could wake up from this terrible nightmare and see your beautiful face and hear your wonderful voice saying, ‘Ke rata batswadi baka ka pelo ka moka’ (I love my parents wholeheartedly).”
Sunday World reports that the police have launched a culpable homicide investigation following the car crash. Limpopo police provincial spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba called it a standard procedure.
“The police must adhere to legal protocols and pro- cedures while conducting their investigation to ensure that the rights of all parties involved are respected and that the investigation is conducted fairly and in accordance with the law.”
