Hip Hop producer Swizz Beatz gets slammed for his partnership with Elon Musk.
Swizz Beatz is facing so much controversy and criticism after partnering with Elon Musk’s X platform. Fans have spoken out against the move and accused the star of betraying them.
According to a report by The South African, the famous producer and husband to Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys, alongside Timbaland, announced a new deal to bring back their celebrated music battle series Verzuz which will be launched exclusively on X.
The news which was expected to be huge and quite rewarding seems to have rubbed fans the wrong way and the spoke out against it. They criticized the partnership citing Musk’s contentious views on race and the manner in which he’s been handling X’s policies. According to them, the famous billionaire has equally shown insensitivity towards racial issues referencing his dismissive remarks on racism and hate speech policies on X.
It also did not help that the announcement coincided with Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. In his response, Swizz defended the partnership and stated that Verzuz has been on the platform since the beginning (when it was Twitter) and also noted their ownership and creative control over it.
