SZA Shocked Simone Biles In Handstand Contest

Famous “Kill Bill” singer SZA shocked celebrated gymnast Simone Biles during a handstand contest.

If you thought SZA was only great at writing hits and singing them, you might have to think again. The famous singer shocked everyone, including Simone Biles in a friendly handstand contest. It was released as part of an NBC promo spot, and the “Snooze” star showed off her agility and athleticism.

According to reports, Biles and SZA met for the first time at the Biles family-owned World Champions Centre in Spring, Texas. Biles had just landed her third Olympic qualification, while SZA had reportedly become one of very few Black female singers to hit the $100 tour mark.

They were seen chatting and stretching, and SZA said music was her “hidden talent.” She said,

“When it was clear to me that I wasn’t going to be a national gymnast, I was like ‘OK, let me see what else I can do and be good at’.”

She also stated that she spent over a decade dedicated to gymnastics before becoming a musician.

“I needed something I could be competitive at.”

They kicked off the handstand contest, and SZA went in first. Thinking she was just practising, Biles was amazed as SZA held her stance firmly. She said,

“Oh, she’s practising. Wait, that’s good,” They also attempted their handstands simultaneously. Biles’ feet surprising hit the mat first, and SZA emerged the winner. Biles said,

“That was so good.” SZA breathlessly replied, “That was so difficult.”

The South African writes that the video was released as part of NBC’s effort to blend pop culture with sports coverage in the run-up to the Paris Olympics. The Olympics kick off on 26 July.
