TI Claims Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Took Shine Away From Other Rappers

TI expressed his disappointment with the recent Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle, stating that it has overshadowed other rappers who have tried to make their mark in 2024. He emphasized that he focuses on wordplay and writing in rap and doesn’t mind rappers lying, as he sees it as part of the game. However, he feels that the battle has taken the spotlight away from other artists, leaving them with little attention in the hip-hop scene.

TI added,

“I will say this,”. “They done kinda f*cked it up for some other who were planning to drop in this period.”

The rapper brings up an interesting perspective. Gunna recently released a new album called “One of Wun,” which focused on the lyrics, which could be interpreted as subtle jabs. Meanwhile, TI has been working hard on completing his final album, “Kill the King.” Although there’s no release date yet, the Atlanta rapper had no plans to drop a double album amid the major rap battle of the 21st century. Fans are highly anticipating TI’s new album, but in the meantime, they can enjoy his impressive viral freestyle over West Coast instrumentals.

During a conversation with Big Boy, TI also shared his thoughts on J. Cole’s decision to stay out of the battle. While some industry veterans have criticized Cole for not getting involved, TI had positive things to say about his choice.

He noted,

“I feel [like] he chose peace and tranquility,” “You got to have thick skin… We don’t know where that would take him. That was quite mature of him.”
