Tom Brady Regrets Netflix Roast Over Impact on His Children

Tom Brady Expresses Regret Over Netflix Roast Impact on His Children

Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, has recently opened up about his regret participating in his Netflix roast. The 46-year-old athlete shared that the jokes made during the special not only targeted him but also affected his children, which he deeply laments.

The Roast and Its Aftermath

On May 5, the “Roast of Tom Brady” was held at the Kia Forum in California. The event, which was broadcasted live, featured a series of biting jokes, many of which revolved around Brady’s personal life, including his recent divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, 43. The couple, who share two children, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, finalized their split in October 2022. Adding to the complexity, Gisele has since moved on with her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente, 34. While Brady initially enjoyed the jokes aimed at him, he later realized the negative impact they had on his children. Speaking on “The Pivot” podcast, Brady confessed, “I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that affected my kids.”

A Lesson in Parenting

Brady, who also has a 16-year-old son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan, 53, admitted he didn’t fully consider the repercussions of his participation in the roast. “It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world,” he reflected. The seven-time Super Bowl champion believes this experience has made him a more conscientious parent. “So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naive you don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s***!’” he admitted.

Learning and Moving Forward

Despite the regret, Brady acknowledged that the incident taught him a significant lesson. “You don’t see the full picture all of the time. It’s a good lesson for me as a parent. I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it,” he said. He also expressed his gratitude that the audience enjoyed the event, saying, “At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun.”

Gisele’s Reaction

Reports from Page Six indicate that Gisele Bündchen was “deeply disappointed” by the jokes about her and her marriage during the roast. A source close to the supermodel revealed, “As always, Gisele’s priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted.” The source further explained that Gisele has been dedicating her time to helping those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is currently experiencing severe flooding. “She was concerned about family affected by the devastating floods, so to hear her life being joked about was very disappointing,” the source added.

Looking Ahead

Brady’s reflections highlight the unforeseen consequences that public figures face when their personal lives become the subject of public entertainment. As a father, Brady is now more mindful of the impact such events can have on his family. This experience serves as a reminder of the delicate balance celebrities must maintain between their public persona and private lives.
