Vampire Weekend & Sabrina Carpenter Billed To Perform On Final SNL Episodes

Saturday Night Live, the popular NBC variety show, has announced the hosts and musical guests for the final two episodes of season 49. On May 11, Maya Rudolph will host the show, with Vampire Weekend returning to the SNL stage again. Vampire Weekend will perform songs from their fifth album, ‘Only God Was Above Us’, which was released on May 7. On May 18, SNL will end its current season, with actor Jake Gyllenhaal returning as host for the third time. He previously hosted episodes in 2007 and 2022. Sabrina Carpenter will perform live in the finale, marking her SNL debut. Carpenter is a rising star in the music industry, having recently released the hit single ‘Espresso’ and performed at Coachella 2024.

In addition to the upcoming SNL appearances, this week’s edition of Saturday Night Live (May 4) will feature Dua Lipa as both the musical guest and host. This will be her third time as the musical guest and her first time as host. She will be promoting her third album, ‘Radical Optimism’, which was released on May 3. Vampire Weekend began a run of North American concerts last month with a special show in Austin, Texas, which coincided with a total solar eclipse. They also made a surprise appearance at the first weekend of Coachella 2024, where Paris Hilton joined them on stage. Vampire Weekend will perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Luton later this month, along with other festival appearances such as Primavera Sound, Kilby Block Party, and Hinterland. With their unique sound and impressive track record, Vampire Weekend is sure to captivate audiences on SNL and at upcoming shows.
