With the exception of a few cameo appearances and singles, Wale has been mainly silent in the hip-hop scene since 2021. However, he is now prepared to make a proper comeback. The rapper from Shine made his first Twitter in more than a year on Tuesday (October 17). It was a blurry photo of him with a brief text that teased the release of new music this weekend.
Fall 2021 saw the release of Wale’s most recent album, Forlarin II. In light of this, the aforementioned social media post might also be alluding to a third release in the album series, but this is just conjecture. The 39-year-old has since collaborated with a variety of musicians, including Jeremih, Bryson Tiller, and Damon Albarn, but hasn’t published a substantial body of material.
Even though he hasn’t confirmed anything, his return to Twitter and a hint that he is back in action suggest that there will be more than just a single. Wale has spent a considerable amount of time hiding. He admitted earlier this year that he has been avoiding any FaceTime calls because of his “introverted” personality.
Late in March, the rapper posted a warning on his Instagram Story to anyone attempting to video call him using his phone.
