The current episode of “Umkhokha: The Curse” brings to life the reality that sometimes the evil people plan against others end up hurting the family members of those who planned the evil and not those they intended the evil for.
That is the reality of the Mamzobe character in the series just mentioned. Touted as a witch, the actress planned to kill MabUsi’s child, a possible heir to the family’s church, whom she sees as a threat. Instead, she ended up killing Nokubonga’s unborn baby. Noku was married to her late son.
She wanted to eliminate MaBusi’s baby so her grandson and Nokubonga’s baby would be the heir to the family’s church. But life had stronger plans and hers failed. She ended up regretting killing her grandson, something she never intended to do in the first place.
The current teaser for the soapie reads. “MaMzobe’s witchcraft succeeds, and the baby dies.” But it stopped short of telling viewers and fans what exactly happened. They had to watch to find out what exactly went down – how the dead died.
Of course, some viewers applauded the twist and how life can rubbish the machintions of the deliberately evil. Mzansi is hooked already.
