Wike Moves To Stop PDP’s Expulsion

Governor of Rivers State, Nigeria Nyesom Wike, has moved against PDP’s planned expulsion.

According to a report by The Whistler, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has secured a court injunction to stop the People’s Democratic Party from expelling him. The report reveals that the governor discovered the party’s plans to dismiss him for anti-party activities, so he “promptly went to court to pre-empt the plot.”

On Monday, February 6, through his lawyer, J. Y. Musa, Wike submitted an application dated 2nd of January for an order stopping Ayu (4th defendant) from expelling him. The Whistler reports that it was filed as a motion ex-parte before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court of Abuja.

He also reportedly “sought for an order of the court granting him leave to serve the motion on notice, originating motion and all other processes of the court in the suit on the 1st to 5th respondents by substituted means, by pasting all the said processes at the PDP National Secretariat immediately.”
