Zuluboy might become the first South African artist to serve as MEC if the MK party wins KZN in the general elections.
In case you didn’t know, popular artist Zuluboy has become a politician. According to a report by Briefly News, the star is rumoured to be a candidate for a government position in KZN. He is said to have joined Jacob Zuma’s new uMkhonto weSizwe party.
The publication writes that if the party succeeds in winning KZN, there might be a high position for the artist. Briefly writes that he joined uMkhonto weSizwe with a specific interest in artists’ rights. With the parties’ performance in elections this year, Zuluboy is reportedly due to be appointed as the MEC for Sport, Arts and Recreation in KZN.
Zimoja writes that this will make him the first artist to hold a government position as an MEC in the country. Mzansi has made several reactions to this,
